— OUR JOURNEY & HISTORY

A Legacy Built on
Connection &
Consistent Quality.

Ingram Bar Group began in 2011 when founder and CEO John “Chip” Ingram opened The Angry Elephant in San Antonio. His vision was simple: create welcoming, high-energy neighborhood spaces where guests receive exceptional service, feel connected to their community, and want to stay longer than they planned. As The Angry Elephant grew, so did the vision. The Roo Pub followed in 2012, The Deuce in 2013, and additional concepts continued to follow over the years. While each location was designed with its own personality and identity, they all shared the same foundation of strong hospitality, consistent quality, and a commitment to creating memorable experiences. Through Chip’s hands-on leadership and dedication to his team, what started as a single bar steadily developed into a growing hospitality group.

Today, more than 15 years after opening its first location, Ingram Bar Group has grown into a team of more than 100 employees and 13 active concepts, with a growing presence across the San Antonio market and beyond. From established favorites like The Deuce and The Roo Pub to newer concepts such as Wild Boar Saloon and Gopher Shack, the group continues to evolve while staying true to the principles that started it all. With new concepts already in development, Ingram Bar Group remains focused on creating unique destinations, investing in its people, and building places where guests genuinely enjoy being. What began as one bar has become a growing collection of experiences, and the journey is far from over.
